Favorite Blogger Series – Jeff and Mandy Rose

I love reading other people’s blogs.  That’s one of the downfalls of starting my own blog – I don’t have as much time to read everyone else’s!  Today I’m excited to announce a new series which will feature some of my favorite bloggers.  The first bloggers I would like to introduce you to are Jeff and Mandy Rose.

Jeff and Mandy are a unique blogging couple.  They each have their own blogs, and they also write a blog together.  I first heard about them when I listened to a podcast interview they did with Court Tuttle earlier this year.  I remember thinking – I need to check them out!

Jeff’s writes Good Financial Cents, a financial planning blog.  I’ll have to admit that I’ve never read Jeff’s blog before today, (who wants to read about financial stuff when I can read about how to decorate my mantel 500 different ways for Christmas), but now I’m hooked.

Check out his About page – seriously one of the best I’ve ever read.   I laughed out loud.  I should have known that he could make finance fun to read about!  Jeff is also the author of a book, “Soldier of Finance”.

Mandy’s blog is The House Of Rose, which started out as a “mommy blog” but has changed over the years into a lifestyle blog.  She writes about their life, home and family. She and Jeff have three adorable boys.

One of my favorite parts of Mandy’s blog is the story of their journey to adopt a child in the Philippines.  She also has a tour of their home on her blog, which I love.

Here are a few pictures of their lovely home.  This first picture is their kitchen – aren’t the arches great?

Jeff and Mandy blog together at Dollars and Roses.  This is my favorite of their blogs.  They give great advice about how to start a blog, blogging tips, and how to make money blogging (they even do a monthly income report).

Recently, they have started recording podcasts together for their Dollars and Roses site.  They interview each other, and other bloggers, and give all kinds of great blogging advice.  They share their ups and downs with their blogs, and are very down to earth.  I like to listen to them while I’m working in my sewing studio.  I think it’s because I’ve listened to their podcasts and watched their videos that I feel like I know them personally.

A few weeks ago, my husband and I went hiking in the area where the Roses live.  While we were there, I told my husband I was going to keep an eye out for Jeff and Mandy.  He clearly thought I was a little crazy, and had no idea who I was talking about.  (Maybe I sounded a little bit like a blog stalker?)  A while later we were in the visitor’s center of the state park where we were hiking, and who do you think I saw on one of the brochures?  The Roses!

Thanks to Mandy and Jeff for letting me feature them.  Check them out, you won’t be disappointed!

Stay tuned for the next blogger I feature in this series.  If you’re like me, and like to read blogs, who are some of your favorite bloggers?
